My name is Brett Schutt.
I’ve always had a desire to tell stories. These started as scribbles in notebooks that turned into big expansive worlds I would write about in my free time. Notable influential films for me that inspired my love for film include 2001: A Space Odyssey and It’s a Wonderful Life. I understood by the vast range of films I watched how films could tackle all sorts of complex struggles of the human condition I myself thought about on a regular basis. I also saw how films could take us to worlds we could only make up in our imagination. In high school, I decided to start a review blog called Artpig Reviews on Instagram where I could write about the movies I watched, needing some sort of outlet to discuss the thoughts I had about media I experienced on a daily basis.
Writing about film led me to create films of my own, sparking my passion to become a filmmaker. Check out my demo reel below!
